چکیده

Does radio programming by Studio Tamani in Mali create an empowering environment for women’s voices? Contributing to existing theoretical discussions on and empowerment, this article examines the need discuss empowerment not from perspective of women as individuals, but “webs relations”, thus allowing intersubjectivity evolving relationships with others be considered. “Webs relations” refers broader societal, institutional, structural inequalities injustices that face their everyday lives which shape agency decision-making power. To achieve aim, draws two rounds focus group (FGDs) conducted 2019–2020 content analyses a series women-related programmes broadcast Tamani, studio created Swiss-based media organisation Fondation Hirondelle. It suggests plurivocality Malian women, diverse heterogenous group, must reflected debates issues order reflect “web delimit empowerment.

Radio Broadcasting

The AM Signalling System (AMSS), now a published ETSI standard [2], has been designed within the DRM Coding and Multiplexing (DRM-CM) group. It uses low bitrate phase modulation of the AM carrier to add a small amount of digital information to existing analogue AM broadcasts on short-, mediumand long-wave, giving similar functionality to that provided by the Radio Data System (RDS) on the FM ba...

Deterministic Radio Broadcasting

We consider broadcasting in radio networks: one node of the network knows a message that needs to be learned by all the remaining nodes. We seek distributed deterministic algorithms to perform this task. Radio networks are modeled as directed graphs. They are unknown, in the sense that nodes are not assumed to know their neighbors, nor the size of the network, they are aware only of their indiv...

Broadcasting in Noisy Radio Networks

The widely-studied radio network model [Chlamtac and Kutten, 1985] is a graph-based description that captures the inherent impact of collisions in wireless communication. In this model, the strong assumption is made that node v receives a message from a neighbor if and only if exactly one of its neighbors broadcasts. We relax this assumption by introducing a new noisy radio network model in whi...

Broadcasting in Geometric Radio Networks

We consider deterministic broadcasting in geometric radio networks (GRN) whose nodes know only a limited part of the network. Nodes of a GRN are situated in the plane and each of them is equipped with a transmitter of some range r . A signal from this node can reach all nodes at distance at most r from it but if a node u is situated within the range of two nodes transmitting simultaneously, the...
